Helias Millerioux Conference

Saturday, February 18th - 8:00pm

Hi Festiglace! Hi Quebec! Hi ice climbers! This is Helias Millerioux, I’m a French mountaineer based in Chamonix in the French Alps. I love ice! That’s why this year I came to Canada to touch vertical ice. I will be there on Saturday at 7pm in Pont-Rouge to talk about our adventures and expeditions around the world. I have had the opportunity to climb beautiful mountains around the world with my friends. Our motivation is to climb mountains alpine style. That is to say that every time we go on an expedition, in the Nepalese Himalayas, in the Pakistani Karakoram, or even in the Andes, we tackle new routes on little frequented summits at high altitude without fixed ropes, without oxygen, without high altitude porters, without external technical assistance… by fair means… I will tell you 2 climbing stories that have marked me in my mountaineering life. The ascent of the west face of Siula Chico in Peru (6244M) and the ascent of the south face of Nuptse Nup 2, (7742m) in Nepal. Of course it will be a story of climbing friendships and alpine style on magnificent mountains… see you on Saturday! I’m looking forward to meeting you and answering your questions!
