Description

This clinic is aimed at climbers wishing to optimize their multi-pitch climbing techniques. The clinic lasts 4 hours, during which participants will learn how to tie specific knots, perform simple anchor, manage ropes effectively, rappelling, ensure smooth communication, organize transitions and use their equipment correctly when climbing.

REQUIRED

It’s important to note that participants must be able to lead climb and have at least one multi-pitch climbing experience before taking part in this clinic.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

Your favorite anchor setup.

Please note that the temperature can be very cold and variable. As a result, bring adjustable layers of clothing, from functional T-shirts to intermediate layers of fleece or wool, a down jacket, a GORE-TEX jacket, Softshell pants, GORE-TEX pants, a hat, a pair of thin and warm gloves, and consider bringing a spare pair.

Compatible crampons for mountaineering boots, technical ice climbing crampons, climbing harness, climbing helmet, 2 ice climbing axes (possible to borrow from our partner’s shop), 2 screw-lock carabiners, a belay system like Reverso or similar, a dynamic lanyard, a charged headlamp, and an approximately 30L backpack.

Sun protection (sunglasses, high SPF sunscreen, lip balm), enough food for the clinic duration, and water (at least 2 liters) for a full day in the mountains. It’s also nice to have a hot beverage in a YETI thermos.

Jérôme St-Michel

Jérôme St-Michel is a passionate and experienced climber, practicing various forms of climbing, such as crack climbing, sport climbing, ice climbing, mixed climbing and bouldering. He took part in the 2020 and 2023 editions of Festiglace, demonstrating his skills in ice climbing and mixed climbing. He is preparing for his next projects by training in the gym and practicing roped solos on lesser-known crags.
