Upgrade for multi-pitch ice climbers to belaying the 1st rope with the belay device directly on the belay.

Participants must be self-sufficient in multi-pitch ice climbing.


Please note that temperatures can be very cold and changeable. Therefore, bring layers of clothing you can adjust, from functional T-shirts to fleece or wool mid-layers, a down jacket, GORE-TEX jacket, softshell pants, GORE-TEX pants, a hat, a pair of thin, warm gloves and a spare pair of gloves.

Crampons compatible with mountaineering boots, technical ice climbing crampons, climbing harness, climbing helmet, 2 ice climbing ice axes (can be borrowed from our partners in our shop), 2 screw-in carabiners, a Reverso-type belay system or similar, a dynamic lanyard, a charged headlamp and a rucksack of approx. 30 L.

Sun protection (sunglasses, high-protection sun cream, lip stick), enough food for the duration of the clinic and water (at least 2 liters) for a full day on the mountain.” It’s also nice to have a hot beverage in a YETI thermos.

Don’t forget your phone or camera to take some nice pictures as a souvenir of your experience.

Dominic Asselin

The founder of Attitude Montagne, Dominic Asselin, is one of the first rock and alpine guides in Quebec to hold certifications from both the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) and the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA).
