Behind Festiglace is a passionate and dedicated climbing community. As a nonprofit organization, Festiglace is run entirely by volunteers, including a seven-member board of directors, a 10-person organizing committee, and nearly 70 volunteers who each play a part in bringing the event to life.

Preparations begin well before winter. Volunteer work parties get underway in the summer and fall to prepare the site and climbing areas for the cold season.

A few weeks before Festiglace, route-setting and equipment teams get to work preparing and securing the competition routes, while our experienced judges help ensure that competitions run smoothly and safely.

It is this collective effort that makes Festiglace special: a community that comes together, shares its passion, and celebrates ice climbing year after year.
