General information

What are the dates of the event?

The Festiglace is taking place from Wednesday, February 21 to Saturday, February 25, 2024. Public activities are offered on Saturday 24th, and Sunday, February 25th.

It is a family activity?

Yes! The goal of Festiglace is to bring together outdoor enthusiasts, the curious, and climbing enthusiasts, as well as the general public, to gather in an enchanting winter landscape. Several activities for all tastes and ages will be offered! On the menu, there will be a treasure rally, zip-line, climbing wall for kids, forest orienteering, and more.

Is there access for people with reduced mobility?

On the main site, access for persons with reduced mobility is restricted. Please contact Festiglace to check if accommodation can be arranged. Access is possible during the evenings.

How do I get there?

Please note that the Dery Bridge road is closed during the winter. Your route will be adjusted via Google Maps.

Directions will be present on the road to guide you.

What should I wear?

Please dress appropriately for the weather, we recommend layers. Insulated boots are recommended. The use of crampons or snowshoes is optional, but there may be icy sections. If you want to try ice climbing, wear a toque with NO pompom to fit under a helmet.

Are dogs allowed on the events sites?

Dogs are prohibited in the competition zone. On the main site, dogs on a leash are accepted, but any disturbance or complaint may require you to leave the site without further warning.

Is there free parking?

Parking cost is 10$. A free shuttle service is available to access the main site.

What is the price to participate to the Festiglace?

Access to the site is free. Registration for clinics and conferences is paid.

There is food available on the site?

Food and alcohol will be available for purchase on-site.

Are there toilets on site?

Yes, however, on the outdoor site, only chemical toilets are available.

Plan your stay

Can we sleep in our camper in the parking lot?

You can sleep in your vehicle in the parking lot as long as it does not take the place of more than one regular size vehicle. The reason is simple, there is not enough space available on the day of the event if the parking lot is occupied by many recreational vehicles.

Can we sleep in our tent?

Yes, there is a free site, but there are no amenities.

Activities

Can I try ice climbing?

A free initiation including all necessary equipment is available. It is not necessary to book for the initiation. Wear a tight fitting toque with NO pompom to fit under a helmet. If you have children with a boot size smaller than 6 US, we recommend bringing alpine ski boots.

Can I try out climbing and/or outdoor equipment?

Our partners are ready to let you try for free. Please note that a photo ID is required for equipment rental.

Climbing: Crampons, ice axe, and boots (Individually or as a set).

Outdoor activities: Snowshoeing, ski hok, snow scooter, and more.

As an independent climber, is there free climbing available?

Several areas are dedicated to free climbers during Festiglace.

What is the meeting point for the clinics?

The meeting point is at the reception in the clearing (site at the top).

Please note that it takes about 15 minutes to walk from the parking lot if you do not take the shuttle.

Athletes

Are there care included?

There is unlimited access to therapeutic care such as physiotherapy, sports therapy, osteopathy, and massage therapy.
