LOUIS ROUSSEAU
HIMALAYAS IN ALPINE STYLE
NANGA FILM SCREENING

7:00 PM

The film *Nanga* documents the ascent of Nanga Parbat (8,125 m), the ninth-highest mountain in the world, achieved in 2009 by Québec alpinist Louis Rousseau and his Austrian partners. Together, they opened a new alpine-style route to reach the summit of this iconic Himalayan peak. He thus became the first Québécois to reach this legendary summit.

Through footage shot on location, the film bears witness to the unfolding of the expedition and the challenges faced during this high-altitude ascent.

Vincent Landry
Stories of Modern Alpinism

8:00 PM

For Vincent Landry, alpinism is a balance between total commitment and humility. Whether on the Grandes Jorasses in winter or skiing on Denali, each expedition is a challenge where performance matters—but where the mountain ultimately sets the rules. Through these adventures, he shares a vision in which self-transcendence and respect for the environment go hand in hand.

Mathias Arroyo-Bégin, Jérôme St Michel, Guillaume Michaud
Poison in Every Puff

9:00 PM

A short documentary following Jérôme, Guillaume, and Mathias in their attempt to free climb Torre Central in Torres del Paine via the legendary South African Route. For Mathias, a Québec climber of Chilean origin, this ascent becomes an intimate quest reconnecting him to his Chilean roots, driven by a narrative structured as a conversation with his Chilean grandmother. Between extreme physical commitment, life on the wall, and the breathtaking landscapes of Patagonia, the film explores the deep relationship between climbers and an indifferent environment—where adventure, vulnerability, and identity intersect.
